Education doesn’t stop in the classroom. That is why I spend that extra time I may have either reading or listening to books. I read various topics such as Business, Real Estate, Marketing, Love and Body Language.
Take a look at some of my favorite books. If you agree or disagree with me, or you recommend another book, feel free to leave a reply at the bottom of the page.
1. Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose
By Tony Hsieh
This book is nothing short of a great adventure. From the ups and downs of Zappos.com to what they did to maintain culture is inspiring and a fun read. It even convinced me to take a tour of the Zappos facilities in Henderson, Nevada. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read not only an exciting book, but wanting to establish culture within their own organization.
2. The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts
By Gary D Chapman
I actually read this book when I was single, but it made total sense and I learned a lot of information. The basis of this book is that most people fall into five categories (Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch) that make them feel more appreciated and love. These languages you can easily apply to the work place as well as your friends and family.
3. What Every BODY is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent’s Guide to Speed-Reading People
By Joe Navarro and Marvin Karlins
Ever wonder what your arms crossed mean? How about your legs crossed? This book outlines various cues that the body makes that we more often than not ignore. This has helped me tremendously in both my work and social life. It has helped me in guiding through discussions and negotiations to where everyone wins. This is a great book and can help you in many different facets of life.
4. The Millionaire Real Estate Investor
By Gary Keller, Dave Jenks, and Jay Papasan
What kind of Real Estate Agent would I be if I didn’t include this one? This easy to read, step by step, playbook to success is a great read even if you are not interested in doing real estate. It helps you in guiding towards more wealth while minimizing risk. I receive this book from a founder of one of the largest mortgage companies in the nation and came highly recommended. And I am glad he did, because I continuously recommend this book to my clients and I refer to it during my open houses and clients when asked questions about investing.
5. Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
By Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner
One of the keys to success is getting creative and thinking outside the box. This book does just that. These economists take two random concepts and create a comparison that blows my mind. This is one of those books that brings those “oh that makes sense” moments. This book is fun, imaginative, and it reminds me to think outside of the box in everything I do.
